OptraDam Plus from Ivoclar Vivadent is the first defence as a barrier against the spread of microorganisms at the primary source, during dental treatment.
The efficacy of rubber dams as a barrier to the spread of microorganisms during dental treatment is the standard of care. Clinical studies show a significant reduction in microorganisms with the use of a rubber dam by as much as 90% to 98%.*
These results indicate that using a rubber dam is a method of reducing microbial contamination at the primary source.
Easy application thanks to integrated frame and pre-printed arch template
Due to the enhanced flexibility of the plastic rings, OptraDam Plus can be placed more easily in the patient's mouth. The optimised position of the pre-printed arch template ensures that the dam automatically adapts to the sulcus. Isolation in the gingival region is thus improved. Because of the improved elastic resilience of the latex material, contact points can be overcome easily, which facilitates the isolation procedure.
For treatment in the anterior region, metal clamps are not necessary, which makes it much more comfortable for the patient.
OptraDam Plus is suitable for use in therapeutic dental procedures for which an absolutely dry and isolated working field is required.
Especially if high-risk patients are to be treated, absolute isolation is essential. This can prevent the formation of contaminated aerosol and provides the user with optimum protection.
