Stoneglass Dental Industries has launched its latest innovation, the DentaBite computer designed and custom milled occlusal splint.
Utisiling its proprietary 'DentaBite Splint Designer' technology, Stoneglass has again migrated a manual dental laboratory process to a state-of-the-art CAD/CAM process which produces a superior splint and ensures accurate fit every time. DentaBite is an occlusal splint that patients will wear creating multiple benefits for dentists and patients.
Precision milling out of life science grade, medically and TGA approved polycarbonate delivers a lighter, thinner, 'long wear' splint that is far less bulky and significantly more comfortable than old-style acrylic products. The advanced material and precision milling process also results in a less porous splint which can last up to twice as long as acrylic products given normal use and care.
By using DentaBite, dentists save time (and money) in surgery when providing Stoneglass with a correctly positioned bite index (bite articulation). The accuracy of 'DentaBite Splint Designer' software and precision milling technologies delivers a final product that is easier to fit and finish on the patient. The time saved through automation and longer lasting product puts DentaBite at the top of the value scale for occlusal splints.
DentaBite design and development has been supported and clinically trialled in association with Dr David Dunn of The Macquarie Street Centre for Implant and Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr Dunn has been instrumental in the development of this DentaBite technology and in validating its clinical effectiveness and patient acceptance through a clinical trial of 30 patients. The favourable results of this trial confirm the advantages of this technology, for both clinician and patient, over all present splint fabrication technologies.
